UNPM Chairman Receives IMF Representative

The Chairman of the National Union of Mauritanian Employers (UNPM), Mr. Mohamed Zeine El Abidine Ould Cheikh Ahmed, received, Monday in Nouakchott, Ms. Anta N’Djoy, Resident Representative of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in our country.

During the meeting, the two sides discussed opportunities for cooperation between Mauritanian employers and IMF and ways to improve investment opportunities and support the private sector.

During the meeting, UNPM Chairman made a presentation on the great investment opportunities in Mauritania and the significant efforts made by the public authorities under the leadership of His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, to improve the business and investment climate, the most important of which was the announcement of the creation of the Higher Investment Council in Mauritania.

For her part, the IMF representative reviewed the roles of her institution in the field of accompanying economic and social development and supporting the private sector in our country, expressing her confidence in the latter’s ability to follow the pace of implementation of the various economic and development projects.
