Saudi Embassy in Nouakchott holds a Ceremony for the Implementation of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques’ Gift Programs to break the Fast and Distribute Dates

The Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in our country held on Friday evening in Nouakchott a ceremony for the implementation of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques’ gift programs to distribute dates and break the fast during the holy month of Ramadan for this year 1446 Hijrah.
In a speech on the occasion, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Islamic Affairs and Original Education, Mr. Baitallah Ould Ahmed Lesoud, appreciated the efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in supporting and serving Islam and Muslims around the world, and extending a helping hand to them, especially during the holy month of Ramadan, the month of goodness, solidarity and mercy.
In recent years, the Ministry of Islamic Affairs and Original Education and its counterpart in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia have been implementing and developing projects that respond to the needs of Muslims in need, and honoring the memorization of the Holy Quran and the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad, he said, noting that this was recently embodied in Mauritania’s hosting of two consecutive editions of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud’s competition for West African countries to memorize the Holy Quran and the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad.
For his part, Saudi Ambassador to our country, Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Abdullah Al-Ruqai, said that the launch of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques’ programs for the distribution of dates and the breaking of fasts comes in implementation of the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince, Prime Minister, Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, to support Islam and Muslims around the world and meet their needs during the holy month of Ramadan.
He added that the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Islamic Republic of Mauritania have distinguished relations in various fields, noting that these relations have witnessed remarkable development under the wise leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and their brother, HE the President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani.
He expressed his thanks and appreciation to the Mauritanian government for the fruitful cooperation it provides to the Embassy of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in everything that would enhance cooperation between the two brotherly countries and emphasize the depth of the distinguished relations between them.
For his part, Dr. Fahid Al-Ruwaisi, religious attaché at the Saudi Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance, explained that the inauguration of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques’ programs to break the fast and distribute dates, which are implemented by the Saudi Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance during the holy month of Ramadan, is an affirmation of the principle of faith brotherhood ((The believers are brothers)).
He pointed out that the amount of dates allocated to Mauritania in this holy month amounts to 15 tons, which will benefit 5,000 families, while the fasting breakfast program in Mauritania will benefit about 6,000 beneficiaries.
The ceremony was attended by the President of the Nouakchott Region, Fatimetou Abdel Malick; the Secretary General of the Mauritanian Ulema Association, Mr. Cheikh Ould Saleh; the President of the Mauritanian-Saudi Friendship Group, parliamentarians, and prominent national figures.
