APIM Director General Meets with Total Eren Vice President

Ms. Aissata Lam, Director General of the Agency for the Promotion of Investments in Mauritania (APIM), met, on Wednesday in Nouakchott, with the Vice-President of Total Eren West Africa and Business Development Advisor to Winch Energy, Mr. Christophe Fleurence.

During the meeting, Mr. Fleurence expressed the interest of Total Eren, independent producer of electricity (IPP), to invest in Mauritania in the field of renewable energies, in particular solar and wind power.

He specified in this context that his company wishes to embark on various projects and that it is preparing to release funds to invest in promising projects for the economic development of Mauritania, in particular in solar energy as well as in rural electrification.

Mr. Christophe Fleurence also requested a partnership with SOMELEC for the supply of energy to the private sector.
For her part, Ms. Aissata Lam assured her interlocutor of her availability to support Total Eren in its investment activities in Mauritania.
