New Secretary General of Arab Economic Unity Council Takes Up Functions

The Secretary General of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Promotion of Productive Sectors, Mr. Idoumou Ould Abdi Ould Jiyid, supervised, on Thursday in Cairo, on behalf of the Minister, the installation of the new Secretary General of the Council of Arab Economic Unity, Mr. Mohamdi Ould Ahmed Ney in his office.

In a speech made during the ceremony held on the sidelines of the work of the ordinary session of ministers of the economy and permanent delegates to the Council, the secretary general clarified that Mauritania has revised its investment code and created new companies responsible for the promotion of productive sectors.

He stressed that our country supports the Council of Arab Economic Unity in its action aimed at supporting the economic policies of various Arab countries.

Mauritania was unanimously elected last April to serve as secretary general of this important Arab economic body.
