On Wednesday, the Minister of Hydraulics and Sanitation, Ms. Amal Mint Maouloud, participated in the MENA Water Development Finance Forum, which kicked off in the Kuwaiti capital, jointly organized by the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development (AFESD) and the World Bank.
The forum aims to explore innovative financial solutions to ensure water security in light of the climate changes facing the region, and to discuss the challenges associated with the development of non-traditional water resources such as desalination and reuse of treated water, while seeking to balance the cost of these solutions with the need to protect vulnerable groups.
The forum also aims to enhance regional cooperation between countries, development organizations and experts in the water sectors to discuss specific development projects that can contribute to improving the management and sustainability of water resources.
The meeting was attended by our country’s Ambassador to Kuwait, H.E. Mr. Mohamed Lamine Ould Cheikh, and an important delegation from the water and sanitation sector.
