President of Republic Oversees 2024 Chinguitt Prize Award Ceremony

On 26 December, in Nouakchott, His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, the President of the Republic, supervised the 2024 Chinguitt Prize Award ceremony.

The Chinguitt Prize, comprising an appreciation and a financial amount of MRO 5 million, was awarded for the first time in 2001. It aims to encourage researchers and authors who contribute to the deepening, progress, and promotion of scientific research in the fields of Islam, science, and literature.

The President of the Republic awarded the Chinguitt Prize for Islamic Studies to Dr. Sid Ahmed Emir for his critical reading of the book “Enlightened Way To Better Understand the Traveler’s Orientation”, and the Science and Technology Prize to Dr. Zouheir Saleh Netou, from Saudi Arabia for his scientific research in the field of public health and dentistry. The Literature and Art Prize went to writer Youbba Baba Hassen for his novel “Massuva Engravings”.
