COVID-19: ‘Situation Stable, No Need To Worry’

Prime Minister Mohamed Ould Bilal Messoud chaired, Friday in Noukachott, a meeting of the Interministerial Committee Responsible for Monitoring COVID-19 to review the pandemic situation and the evolution of vaccination in Mauritania.

The committee noted that the available indices of the spread of the coronavirus in all areas, the diagnoses of residents and travelers, the numbers of infected people, of deaths, and of those confined in hospitals show that the health situation in the country is stable and there is no need to worry.

The committee also noted the need for greater attendance at vaccination centers to strengthen protection against this scourge and prevent possible spread.

Within this framework, the committee invites the Nation’s vital forces and the civil society to a real involvement in the awareness-raising campaigns undertaken by the health services and the various directions to accelerate the rhythm of the vaccination of the people concerned.
