Minister of Culture supervises the Opening of a Scientific Symposium on the Scientific and Cultural Publications of the Madain Heritage Festival in Chinguitti

Minister of Culture, Arts, Communication and Relations with Parliament, Government Spokesman, Houssein Ould Medou, oversaw Monday evening in Nouakchott the opening of the scientific symposium organized by the National Commission for Education, Culture and Science on the scientific and cultural publications of the thirteenth edition of the Madain Heritage Festival in Chinguetti on Monday evening in Nouakchott.
During the seminar, several lectures were presented on “Chinguetti… Caravans and Forums”, “Al-Shanaquita and their Cultural and Social Role in Sudan”, “The Maliki School of Culture from Kairouan to Chinguetti”, “Al-Shanquiti Palm Species”, “Characteristics, Names and Techniques of Agriculture”, in addition to poetry collections dealing with the glories of Chinguetti.
The authors gave presentations on their new publications and the research methods they followed during the authorship.
The Minister of Culture, Arts, Communication and Relations with Parliament, Government Spokesman, said in a speech on the occasion that this ceremony was held to express gratitude to the craftsmen and culture campaign in our country for their great efforts that accompanied the thirteenth edition of the Mada’in Heritage Festival in Chinguetti.
He added that the initial preparations for the festival resulted in the publication of 11 books, an effort that belongs to the authors who worked hard and exerted precious and precious efforts to present original books in the heritage field, which gave the festival a cultural value embodied in the cultural outputs of this edition of the festival.
The Minister thanked the authors who provided this sober scientific material in its cognitive dimension, originality and creativity in order to provide the festival with what constitutes a permanent cultural glow for the city of Chinguitti.
For his part, the head of the National Committee for Education, Culture and Science, Mohamed Ould Sidi Abdallah, explained that the followers of the festival monitored the scientific value of its outputs, as well as the size of the budget allocated to the development portfolio, but this did not hide the emergence of the scientific aspect in this edition, which received the attention of names who devoted their time to research and investigation.
He added that the country’s partners in the field of education and culture praised the cultural value of the Madayn Heritage Festival, which represented for them and those interested in culture the most prominent cultural event in the African continent, which made the National Committee for Education, Culture and Science work to encourage research and authorship.
Yahya Ould Ahmedou, in charge of a mission at the Ministry of Culture, Arts, Communication and Relations with Parliament, said that this cultural symposium comes in celebration of the achievements of the scientific component of the Madain Heritage Festival, which constitutes a cultural summit and a window through which it overlooks a long past and a promising future.
He pointed out that the speech of His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, gave a special advantage to this edition, as he called for a national donation in order to overcome the remnants of the past to build a future based on fraternity and equity.
For his part, the president of the Mauritanian Union for Publishing and Distribution, Salami Ahmed Mekki, said that the interest in publishing and knowledge has accompanied Shanakta since ancient times, as some families specialized in authorship, which made them one of the first to start writing and authoring in Chinguetti as an embodiment of the interest that continued to inhabit Shanakta as evidenced by the first versions of Mauritanian books after independence.
