General Directorate for National Security Receives Donation from Spanish Ministry of Interior

The General Directorate for National Security received a batch of equipment and sophisticated technical tools for protection, movement, and security monitoring donated by the Spanish ministry of the interior to support the Mauritanian efforts in the fight against clandestine migration.

The donation was handed over by the Spanish Ambassador to Mauritania, His Excellency Mr. HE Mr. Jesus Santos Aguado, to the General Manager of the national security, Mr. Misgharou Ould Sidi.

In a speech on this occasion, the general manager of the national security affirmed that the cooperation between Mauritania and the kingdom of Spain is multidimensional and manifests essentially in the joint work in the fight against the criminal networks and organizations, acting in the field of the clandestine migration.

He added that this batch of equipment would help the country keep up with the technological developments in the field of the fight against criminal activities.

On his part, the Spanish ambassador pointed out that clandestine migration poses a common challenge that requires efficient and deep cooperation between the different countries concerned with this phenomenon.

He expressed his country’s will to continue the cooperation with Mauritania to address all challenges that face both countries.
