Communique of Second Meeting of National Committee for Follow-up on Ndjamena Summit’s commitments

The National Ad-hoc committee for the follow-up on the commitments of the Ndjamena Summit met Monday under the leadership of the Minister of Economic Affairs and Promotion of Productive Sectors, Mr. Ousmane Mamoudou Kane.

This meeting has allowed noticing the development in the procedures related to the implementation of the integrated territorial approach in Hodh Charghi for the security of Mauritanians and the strengthening of the Mauritanian battalion in the Joint military force of the G5 Sahel countries.

It is worth noting that the foreign ministers of the G5 Sahel countries signed, on March 19, 2020, a roadmap related to the commitments adopted by the leaders of the G5 Sahel countries and their partners at the Ndjamena Summit, held on February 16, 2021.

This roadmap stipulates the creation of a committee for the follow-up on these commitments at the level of each country of the group.

Our country has established on May 4, 2021 an Ad-hoc committee, chaired by Minister of Economic Affairs and Promotion of Productive Sectors, Mr. Ousmane Mamoudou Kane, to follow up on these commitments and coordinate its work with the countries member of the G5 Sahel group.
