Nouakchott

The Ambassador to Cairo and Permanent Representative to the League of Arab States, His Excellency Mr. Al Hussein Sidi Abdallah Wadih, on behalf of His Excellency the Minister of Health, Mr Abdallah Sidi Mohamed Wadih, received on Thursday in Cairo, Egypt, a special honor award for the ‘Enaya’ health system support project, as part of the Arab Government Excellence Award.

The Arab Government Excellence Award aims to promote a culture of excellence in government administration and stimulate innovative initiatives that contribute to raising the efficiency of Arab institutions.

The ceremony was held at the Great Hall of the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States on Thursday in Cairo, and was presided over by the Secretary General of the League of Arab States, who delivered a speech on the occasion congratulating the winning projects and initiatives.

It is worth mentioning that the Enaya project was selected from a number of projects submitted by the government for this award at the end of last year.

It is a performance-based financing project co-funded by the Mauritanian government and the World Bank. In its first phase, it covered Basin states and Guidimagha, and on 18 November, the Minister of Health and the World Bank Resident Representative in Mauritania oversaw its expansion to cover six new states from Kaedi.
