African Union President arrives in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia

HE President of the Republic and Chairperson of the African Union, Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazwani, arrived on Saturday in the city of Jeddah (Kingdom of Saudi Arabia), where he will participate in the joint Arab-Islamic follow-up summit in Riyadh.

The President of the Republic was received by HRH Prince Saud bin Meshal bin Abdulaziz, Deputy Emir of the Makkah Region, Engineer Ali Al-Qurashi, Deputy Governor of Jeddah Governorate, Major General Silman Al-Tuwairab, Director of Jeddah Governorate Police, Mr. Ahmed bin Zafer, Director of Royal Protocol in Jeddah, and Mr. Mohamedan Ould Aboud, Chargé d’affaires at the Embassy of our country in Riyadh, as well as the staff of the diplomatic missions in Riyadh and the Consulate in Jeddah.

H.E. the President of the Republic was accompanied by an important delegation that includes:

– Dr. Meriem Bint El Dah, First Lady.

– Mr. Nani Ould Chrouga, Minister in charge of the Office of the President of the Republic.

– Mr. Mohamed Salem Ould Merzoug, Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Mauritanians Abroad.

– Mr. El Houcine Ould Aldeh, Permanent Representative of our country to the League of Arab States.

– Mr. Ahmed Ould Abah alias Ahmida, Advisor to the Presidency of the Republic.

– Mr. Tal Othman, Advisor to the Presidency of the Republic.

– Mr. Mahfoudh Ould Ibrahim, Advisor to the Presidency of the Republic.

– Mr. El Hassan Ould Ahmed, Director General of State Honors.

The summit, which is considered an extension of the joint Arab-Islamic summit, will be held on Monday and will discuss the continued Israeli aggression against the Palestinian territories and the Lebanese Republic, developments in the region and the coordination of positions among member states.
