President of Republic Receives EU Ambassador’s Credentials

On 29 October, in Nouakchott, His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El-Ghazouani, the President of the Republic, received the credentials of HE Mr. Joaquim Tasso Villalonga, as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the European Union (EU) to the Islamic Republic of Mauritania.

On the sidelines of the credentials presentation ceremony, Mr. Vilallonga made a statement to the Mauritanian news agency, in which he indicated that he expressed to His Excellency the President of the Republic his willingness to work tirelessly to further strengthen the friendship and cooperation between the EU and Mauritania in the fields of renewable energy, development, green hydrogen, job creation, vocational training, health, including access to universal health insurance, but also on the humanitarian level, where Mauritania is making great efforts to host refugees.
