President of Republic Receives Malian New Ambassador’s Credentials

On 29 October, in Nouakchott, His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El-Ghazouani, the President of the Republic, received the credentials of HE Mr. Bakary Doumbia, as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Mali to the Islamic Republic of Mauritania.

In a statement to the Mauritanian news agency at the end of the credentials’ presentation ceremony, Mr. Doumbiya thanked the national authorities for the warm welcome extended to him upon his arrival.

He added that he carried a friendly and fraternal message from the Malian people and His Excellency General Assimi Goita, Head of the Transition and President of the Republic, to the brotherly people of Mauritania and His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, the President of the Republic.

He recalled the long-standing ties of fraternity, friendship, and neighborliness between the two countries.

The ambassador also reaffirmed his commitment to investing in further strengthening these relations, stressing that he would be interested in revitalizing the Mauritania-Mali Grand Joint Cooperation Commission that Bamako hosted its 13th session in 2016.
