Ministers of Economy and Finance, the Delegate in charge of the Budget and the Governor of the Central Bank hold a press conference with a delegation from the IMF

Minister of Economy and Finance, Mr Sid’Ahmed Ould Bouh, together with the Minister Delegate to the Minister of Economy and Finance in charge of the Budget, Mr. Kodioro Moussa Engnor, and the Governor of the Central Bank of Mauritania, Mr Mohamed Lemine Ddhehbi, held a press conference on Wednesday evening at the Central Bank’s headquarters in Nouakchott with a mission from the International Monetary Fund (IMF), headed by Mr Felix Fischer, Vice President, Middle East and Central Asia Department of the IMF and head of the IMF mission in Mauritania; at the conclusion of its mission in our country.
This press point is the culmination of two weeks of consultations carried out by the IMF mission in Mauritania to follow up on joint programmes and relations, which concluded today with the conclusion of a reform programme and agreement between our country and this international financial body.
This conference also aims to inform the public about the overall economic situation of the country following the conclusion of the mission’s visit, and the content of Chapter IV of the IMF Charter on the third review of the Extended Credit Facility, the Extended Support Mechanism and the Resilience and Sustainability Facility.
During the press conference, the Minister of Economy and Finance praised the high level of technical and financial support provided by the IMF to our country to accompany the major reform workshops undertaken by the government at the financial and economic level to drive development.
