Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, the President of the Republic, has instructed Mr. Mohamed Ould Abdelfattah, the High Commissioner of the Senegal River Development Organization (OMVS), to transmit written messages to the Heads of State members of the Organization.
The Presidential Envoy began his mission with a meeting with the Malian President, Colonel Assimi Goita, on 27 August, followed by others with the Guinean President, General Mamadi Doumbouya, and the Senegalese President, Bassirou Diomaye Faye.
The mission of the Presidential Envoy includes explaining the Organization’s resource mobilization plan for its major projects, such as the river navigation project, the Koukoutanba and Karbassi dams, and other major development projects that address the challenges facing the region due to the growing effects of climate change.
The High Commissioner’s mission is part of the desire of His Excellency, the President of the Republic and President in Office of the OMVS, to promote consultation as a means of advancing the development of member countries and coordinating their efforts to address the challenges related to the development and climate change in the region.
