Djibouti

HE Ambassador of our country to Cairo and Permanent Representative to the League of Arab States, H.E. Al Hussein Sidi Abdallah Aldeh, participated, on behalf of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Mauritanians Abroad, in the second consultative meeting on strengthening the coordination of peace initiatives and efforts in Sudan, which was held on Wednesday in Djibouti, with the participation of a number of countries and international and regional organizations concerned with the situation in Sudan.

During the meeting, Ambassador Al Hussein Sidi Abdallah Aldeh delivered a speech in which he thanked the Republic of Djibouti for hosting the meeting and its tireless efforts to promote peace and stability in Sudan.

He pointed out the gravity of the situation in Sudan as a result of the worsening of the current crisis and its repercussions at all levels, which requires us all to take a firm stand to stop the ceasefire, coordinate efforts and mobilize the necessary resources to provide emergency humanitarian support and provide medical and food aid to the sick, hungry, infirm, children and displaced persons.

He stressed the importance of unifying efforts and initiatives in order to reach an urgent solution, ensuring an immediate cessation of armed action and entering a political process that will restore Sudan’s stability, expressing Mauritania’s readiness, based on the deep fraternal relations that bind it to Sudan, to contribute to everything that would lead to the desired solution, its support for the current initiatives, and its renewed stand with Sudan in preserving its sovereignty, independence, territorial integrity and the integrity of its state institutions.

He urged everyone to accelerate the implementation of the Jeddah Declaration (2023) to commit to the protection of civilians, praising the efforts of the Arab Republic of Egypt in bringing together civilian political forces to bridge views and pave the way for the launch of a comprehensive Sudanese national dialogue with the participation of the African Union and the IGAD organization.
