Minister of Economic Affairs Meets with UN Agencies Representatives

The Minister of Economic Affairs and Promotion of Productive Sectors, Mr. Ousmane Mamoudou Kane, held a meeting, on Tuesday in Nouakchott, with representatives of United Nations agencies in Mauritania, led by the Resident Coordinator of these agencies, Mr. Anthony Kwaku Ohemeng Boamah.

The meeting reviewed preparations for the second five-year plan 2025-2021 of the Strategy for Accelerated Growth and Shared Prosperity (SCAPP).

On this occasion, the Minister highly appreciated the partnership between Mauritania and these UN agencies, which has resulted in fruitful cooperation at all levels.

The meeting called for the need to accelerate the implementation of the new five-year plan, which our country will present to donors for consultation, but also with a view to mobilizing support before the end of 2021.

During the meeting, the representatives of the UN agencies expressed the will of their respective bodies to fully support Mauritania in the implementation of the new five-year development plan.

The meeting was also an opportunity for Abbass Sylla, director general of development policies and strategies of the ministry to present the benchmark indicators of the said plan.
