Mauritania Receives 31,200 Doses of COVID-19 Vaccine Under COVAX Initiative

The director of epidemiological surveillance, Mr. Mohamed Mahmoud Ould Ely Mahmoud, acting director of public health, received, Monday at Nouakchott Oumtounsy international airport, the second batch of the Astra Zeneca vaccine, supplied as part of the global COVAX Initiative.

This batch, which comes to support the national efforts to provide this vaccine to Mauritanian citizens, consists of 31,200 doses.

It should be noted that Mauritania received on 4 April a first batch of the COVID-19 vaccine as part of the COVAX initiative.
