President of Republic Receives Congratulatory Message From Gabonese Counterpart

On 17 July, His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, the President of the Republic, President-elect, received a message of congratulations from HE Brigadier General Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema, the President of the Transition, President of the Gabonese Republic, on the occasion of his re-election, in the first round, to the presidency of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania.

The message reads as follows:

“Mr President of the Republic and Dear Brother,

Following the presidential election held in your country on 29 June 2024, the brotherly People of Mauritania have, once again, chosen you to preside over the destiny of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania for the next five years.

This victory undoubtedly illustrates the support of your compatriots for the development program and the new ambitions you intend to implement for the continued modernization of Mauritania and the well-being of its population.

By expressing my best compliments for this success, I am pleased to express to you my sincere wishes for success in accomplishing the heavy and exciting responsibilities that have just been entrusted to you.

The term that you are about to begin should allow us, I fervently hope, to continue to raise to a higher level the multifaceted links of friendship, fraternity, and cooperation uniting our two countries in the well-understood interest of our respective peoples.
