Mauritania is elected as a member of Technical Committees of Arab Civil Aviation Organization

Mauritania was elected as a member of some of the technical committees of the organization during the meetings of the General Assembly of the Arab Civil Aviation Organization at the ministerial level held at its 28th ordinary session on 3 and 4 July 2024 in Rabat, Kingdom of Morocco. These committees are the Environment Committee, the Air Navigation Committee, the Financial and Administrative Control Committee, and the Media and Communication Committee. Besides, our country was also elected as a reserve member of the Air Safety Committee.

These committees are considered as the technical arms of the organization and the basis of its technical work, as they prepare the organization’s technical work and projects and discuss topics referred to them by the General Assembly or the Executive Council.

Each committee is composed of 9 specialized experts representing member states elected for a period of two years, and 22 countries, the total number of member states of the organization, compete for membership in these committees.

A delegation from our country participated in the activities of this session, headed by the Minister of Equipment and Transport Mr. Mohamed Aly Ould Sidi Mohamed with the membership of Mr. Engueida Abdallahi Abbas, Director General of the National Civil Aviation Agency, Kan Ibrahima, Mauritanian representative to the ICAO Council based in Montreal, and Sidi Ould Hananeh, Advisor to the Director General of the the National Civil Aviation Agency.
