2024 Presidential elections: Candidate Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani Reviews Electoral Program Broad Outlines in Atar
On 21 June, in Atar, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, The candidate for the 2024 presidential elections, indicated that the investment portfolio intended for the wilaya of Adrar, over the last 5 years reached MRO 43 billion, which allowed to build 47 educational establishments, supply 47 school canteens, construct a regional hospital in Atar, extend electricity networks, support agricultural development through the construction of water dams and dikes, protect and develop oases which are the main culture in the wilaya.
He added, during a popular meeting organized by his campaign, that the achievements from which the wilaya benefited also included the launch of construction work on the Atar-Chinguity road, the construction of urban roads in Atar, the opening up of the areas of El Medah, Laoueina, and Maaden, the creation of 19 water networks, the rehabilitation of 25 boreholes, the renewal of pumping installations, health insurance for the benefit of 12,000 families, the cash transfer for the benefit of 2,800 families, the construction of 184 social housing units, in addition to the primordial place occupied by the wilaya on the national cultural scene thanks to the hosting of the historical towns festival by the towns of Chinguity and Wadane during the last period.
The candidate is committed to increasing investments dedicated to the wilaya of Adrar and directing them in a particular way toward the areas of education, health, environment, infrastructure, agriculture, and tourism, increasing the number of beneficiaries of health insurance, and creating favorable conditions for strengthening the performance of the agricultural sector, particularly the oases which occupy a central place in the local economy. He also indicated that, during the next term, he will focus on empowering young people and strengthening their role in different areas, undertake very strong reforms to create employment opportunities, combat mismanagement with strength, and launch an agricultural revolution to achieve food self-sufficiency, in addition to a reform of the administration, the strengthening of decentralization, the promotion, and support of the private sector as well as the productive sectors, all by promoting the performance of the livestock, fisheries, and mining sectors.
The candidate further renewed his desire to preserve the security and stability of the country with all available means, warning any party, whether internal or external, off trying to undermine the security of Mauritania.
Candidate Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani called on the populations of the wilaya of Adrar to vote for him during the next presidential elections to continue the execution of the development program and launch new projects that will enable Mauritania to take new important steps on the path to development and prosperity.
