The 2024 presidential candidate, Mr. Biram Dah Abeid, opened his presidential campaign from Kiheidi this morning, Friday, June 14, 2024.
He emphasized that he chose to launch his campaign from Kiheidi consciously for its symbolic status, and because it is the capital of the bank, the capital of the rising cities, and the capital of the revolution, as well as other revolutionary cities, such as Nouadhibou and Rosso, pointing out that he noticed in 2023 that the cities that were supposed to be subject to the military regime and affiliated with it became against it.
He pointed out that he does not want his speech to be an impassioned speech, but rather a calm speech that diagnoses the situation, puts things in perspective, and highlights the real issues, calling for listening to him more than clapping for him.
He also stressed that “yesterday they got the popular victory, and only the legal victory remains, resulting from the elections and the actual victory, by entering the palace, that palace that I saw for the first time coming from Rosso after I obtained the baccalaureate, and I said to myself that it is the place where I will reside as president of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, to treat the diseases of Mauritania that I was aware of since my youth, and I was not going to reside in Tuverg Zeina for air conditioning or close to those who abuse public money, which is why I still live in the province of Riyadh.”
The candidate Biram Dah Abeid also criticized the existing regime and its predecessor, and reviewed at length the voting processes and related matters, calling on his supporters to be vigilant and provide representatives in all offices, highlighting in this context the lack of logistical means.
He reiterated his certainty of success in the June 29, 2024, vote and winning the presidency.
He stated that his main goal if he wins the presidency is to build a modern Mauritania on the foundations of justice, equality and equity.
