Prime Minister Receives Senegal’s Minister of Fisheries

On 5 June, in Nouakchott, Prime Minister Mohamed Ould Bilal Messoud received Dr. Fatou Diouf, the Minister of Fisheries, Maritime Infrastructures, and Ports, who is currently making a working visit to our country.

The meeting focused on cooperative relations between the two countries and ways to strengthen and develop them to meet the aspirations of the two brotherly people, as well as various issues of common interest.

At the end of the meeting, the Senegalese Minister of Fisheries made a statement to the Mauritanian news agency, in which she welcomed the excellent, centuries-old fraternal relations that exist between the two brotherly countries.

She explained that the visit was part of the fishing agreement between the two countries, thanking the Prime Minister and the Mauritanian authorities for the facilities granted within the framework of these negotiations. She affirmed the commitment of Senegal to strengthening and diversifying cooperation in the field of fisheries control and scientific research.

Dr Fatou Diouf indicated that the Mauritanian model in this area is an example to follow and expressed the desire of her country to share with Mauritania its experience in the areas of fisheries, fish farming, and inland fishing products processing industries.
