President of Republic, AU Chairman, Meets With AU Commission President

On 5 June, on the sidelines of the Korea-Africa Summit in Seoul, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, the President of the Republic and Chairman of the African Union (AU), met with Mr. Moussa Faki Mahamat, the President of the AU Commission.

The meeting focused on the monitoring and evaluation of the performance of the Commission and the implementation of the directives and recommendations of the Mauritanian Presidency of the African Union to preserve the interests of the African continent and promote the development of the countries of the Union and the emancipation of its people. Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani opened the Korea-Africa Summit on 4 June alongside Korean President Yun Sook Yeol, in the presence of dozens of heads of state and government and representatives of African delegations.
