President of Republic Condoles Iran’s Interim President

On 20 May, His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, the President of the Republic, sent a message of condolences to His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Mokhber, the Interim President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, on the occasion of the death of President Brahim Raissi, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Houssein Amir Abdoullahian, and other officials.

The message reads as follows:

”Excellency and dear brother,

We learned with great pain and sadness the news of the death of the late President Brahim Raissi, Minister of Foreign Affairs Houssein Amir Abdoullahian, and other officials following the crash of the helicopter, which was transporting them on their way back to Tehran.

On the occasion of this painful tragedy, in my name and on behalf of the Mauritanian government and people, I extend to Your Excellency, the government, the brotherly Iranian people, and the families of the victims, my sincere condolences and my sympathy, imploring Allah the Almighty to shower His mercy upon the departed and welcome them to His Holy Paradise.

 Assuring you of the sympathy and support of the Mauritanian government and people in this painful ordeal, I pray to Allah the Almighty to protect your brotherly country from all harm and grant it the blessings of security and safety.
