Prime Minister Visits Water, Sanitation Ministry

On 12 April, Prime Minister Mohamed Ould Bilal paid a visit to the National Water Company (SNDE).

The Prime Minister was received upon his arrival at the company by the Minister of Water and Sanitation, Mr. Sidi Ahmed Ould Mohamed, the Secretary General of the Ministry, the Wali of West Nouakchott, the chairperson of the region of Nouakchott, the Hakem of Tevragh Zeina and the mayor of its municipality.

On the sidelines of the visit, the Minister of Water and Sanitation made a statement in which he indicated that the Prime Minister recalled the need to apply the instructions of the President of the Republic calling for renewal and the reactivation of the national administration.

He also pointed out that the Prime Minister gave instructions emphasizing the dire need to respect the working hours, the administrative hierarchy, and the resolution of all the problems which could contribute to facilitate the access of the citizens to the essential services in particular water. He also urged the ministry staff to speed up the implementation of water sector projects because of their great importance in facilitating citizens’ access to drinking water.

Mr. Sidi Ahmed Ould Ahmed added that the Prime Minister’s visit is stimulating as it gives new impetus to the Water and Sanitation department.

During this visit, the Prime Minister was accompanied by his director of cabinet, in addition to some advisers and officers in charge of special duties at the Prime Minister’s Office.
