On 7 May, in Dallas, United States of America, the Prime Minister, Mr. Mohamed Ould Bilal Messaoud, participated, on behalf of His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El-Ghazwani, the President of the Republic and Chairman of the African Union, at the opening of the US-Africa Economic Partnership Summit.
The summit will focus on high-level dialogues and discussions with senior US administration officials to improve investment mechanisms in Africa and develop governance to take advantage of promising opportunities in this area.
This summit will give our country, which holds the rotating presidency of the African Union, the opportunity to present the vision of the future of the continent as perceived by Africans and the best ways to achieve the aspirations of the people of the continent to progress and the construction of sustainable development through its aspiration to establish a solid partnership with the United States of America.
The summit will also provide an opportunity to discuss and exchange views on channeling resources to financially and technologically support energy production and infrastructure development in Africa.
