President of Republic Offers Condolences to Queen of Britain

The President of the Republic, His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, sent Friday the following message of condolences to Her Majesty Elizabeth II, queen of the United Kingdom, Northern Ireland, and head of the Commonwealth, following the passing of HRH Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh:

“Majesty,

It was with deep sorrow and sadness that I learned of the passing of His Royal Highness Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, after a long life devoted to the service of humanitarian and environmental causes. He embodied the military honor in its utmost noble meanings and the British values in their sublime manifestations.

On this sad occasion, I extend, on behalf of the Mauritanian people and myself, my sincere condolences to Your Majesty and the Royal Family and through you to the British people.
