Minister of Fisheries and Maritime Economy Visits the Regional Headquarters of the Mauritanian Agency for Maritime Affairs

The Minister of Fisheries and Maritime Economy, Mokhtar El Housseynou Lam, paid an inspection visit to the regional headquarters of the Mauritanian Agency for Maritime Affairs in Nouadhibou on Thursday morning.
The Department for the Protection of the Middle and the Maritime Public Sphere was the first stop of the visit, where the Minister listened to explanations of the role it plays.
The minister also visited the Maritime Service, which monitors the entry and exit of national and foreign ships, and issues permission to access Mauritanian waters, in addition to the secretary, the Maritime Safety and Security Centre and the Office of the Regional Director.
At the end of his visits, the Minister held a meeting attended by the Commander of the Coast Guard, the Director General of the Mauritanian Agency for Maritime Affairs, the Director General of the National Office for the Inspection of Fishery Products, the Director General of the Mauritanian Institute for Ocean Research and Fisheries, the Minister’s Advisor in charge of Communication, some central directors of the Ministry and the regional administration staff.
During the meeting, the Minister explained that this visit enabled him to review the work of this regional and vital administration, and to give recommendations and directives in accordance with the instructions of His Excellency the President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh EL Ghazouani, to solve the various problems of the fishing sector, improve maritime safety conditions and effectively implement the various decisions and decisions regulating the sector.
