President of Republic AU Chairman, Receives FAO Director General

On 15 April, in Nouakchott, His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, the President of the Republic and President-in-Office of the African Union (AU), received Mr. Qu Dongyu, the Director General of the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).

The talks focused on the areas of cooperation between Mauritania and the FAO and the means to develop them.

In a statement to the Mauritanian news agency (AMI) following the meeting, the FAAO Director General welcomed the President of the Republic’s appreciation of the activities and programs implemented by FAO in Mauritania.

He affirmed the determination of his institution to continue and intensify its cooperation with our country in various areas falling within its competence.
