Mauritania Condemns Israeli Warplanes Targeting of Iranian Consulate in Damascus

The Islamic Republic of Mauritania condemned the Israeli air strikeout of the Iranian

consulate in the Syrian capital Damascus.

This came in a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Mauritanians

Abroad on Wednesday, a copy of which was received by the Mauritanian News Agency,

which reads as follows:

“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation and Mauritanians Abroad has received with

strong condemnation the targeting of the Iranian consulate in Damascus by Israeli aviation,

in flagrant violation of the sovereignty of the Syrian Republic and in great disregard for

international conventions and covenants that safeguard the sanctity of diplomatic and

consular premises. The Ministry, while condemning this heinous targeting, reaffirms the

need to respect diplomatic and consular premises and the sovereignty of States in

accordance with the relevant requirements of international law”.
