The Food Security Commissioner Returns to Nouakchott after Participating in Board Directors Meetings of the World Food Program

The Commissioner for Food Security, Ms. Fatimetou Khatri, returned to Nouakchott after representing Mauritania, this year, in the meetings of the Board Directors of the United Nations World Food Programme hosted by the Italian capital Rome last week.
The Commissioner held a meeting with the Global Food Nutrition Directorate, Ms. Cindy Hensley McCain to discus cooperation relations between our country this international organization and ways to enhence and develp them.
The Commissioner also delivered a speech in the session in which she touched on our country’s efforts in the field of food security over the past years and the measures taken by the government to strengthen food security for citizens.
The session approved the new strategic plan for the program’s work in our country, which covers the period from 2024 to 2028, the plan the Commissioner mentioned in her speech. It was to confirm the support of the Mauritanian government for this plan, and its readiness to work jointly, and closely with the World Food Program to implement it.
