Minister of Economy Meets With German Development Bank Delegation

On 4 March, in Nouakchott, Mr. Abdessalam Ould Mohamed Saleh, the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, received a delegation from the German Development Bank, led by Dr. Daniela Beckmann, the Director of the North Africa Department, and included Ms. Sonja Hoss, officer in charge of the Mauritania file, Ms. Verna Kessnell, officer in charge of the Mauritania program, and members of the institution’s staff.

The meeting was an opportunity to discuss the different prospects of cooperation between our country and this financial institution and examine the portfolio of projects financed by the Bank in Mauritania.

The projects include the launch of the value chain development project and employment in the fishing sector, another to strengthen the coast guard, financed by the European Investment Bank (EIB) in the amount of 18.5 million euros, and the traditional fishing port project, which has already been increased by 2 million euros.
