Minister of Economy Meets With Global Affairs Director General at Italian Foreign Affairs Ministry

On 14 February, in Rome (Italy), Mr. Abdessalam Ould Mohamed Saleh, the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development, met with Ms. Vincenza Lomonaco, the Ambassador and Director General of Global Affairs and Cooperation at the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation.

The meeting discussed different aspects of cooperation between our country and the Italian Republic, ways to strengthen this cooperation, particularly in its economic aspect, and the need to mobilize funds and attract investments in our country, which is full of many compelling opportunities.

During the meeting, held on the sidelines of the forty-seventh session of the Governing Council of the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), the two parties also discussed the central role of Mauritania in the strategic partnership with the European Union in light of the recent visit of the President of the European Commission to Mauritania. The Italian side appreciated the role of Mauritania in the region.
