Minister of Foreign Affairs Participates in AU Executive Council Meeting

On 12 February, Mr. Mohamed Salem Ould Merzoug, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation, and Mauritanians Abroad, participated, via videoconference, in a meeting of the Executive Council of the African Union (AU).

The meeting takes place as part of the preparation for the 37th ordinary session of the AU Summit of Heads of State and Government, to be held on 18 and 19 February 2024 in Adis–Ababa.

The meeting will review this year’s roadmap on ‘accelerating the implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Area’.

It will also discuss several other topics, including the annual report of the Union and its bodies and the annual report on the implementation of activities linked to the roadmap.
