KSGAAL launches Intensive Expert Preparation Program “Khabir” to qualify Arabic teachers

Riyad

UNA – The King Salman Global Academy for Arabic Language has launched the Intensive Expert Preparation Program (Khabir), a linguistic intensive training program aimed at specialists in applied linguistics and teaching Arabic to non-native speakers.

The program follows specific rules and conditions for enrollment, with participants undergoing (in-person) training in four academic fields that serve the discipline of teaching Arabic to non-native speakers, led by a group of experts. The program starts on January 28th and will continue until March 13th.

The “Khabir” program aims to form a community of experts in teaching Arabic to non-native speakers among current practitioners. Its objectives include teaching Arabic, developing a distinguished model for teaching Arabic as a second language, as well as preparing teachers and specialists and enriching their scientific experiences.

The KSGAAL has designated three weeks for each training program, with the third week specifically allocated for presenting an applied project through a digital platform. Participants are scheduled to undergo training in four academic fields: designing Arabic language teaching programs for specific purposes, designing virtual Arabic language teaching programs, constructing linguistic tests, and developing linguistic educational materials.

The training programs are also planned to be conducted in several cities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The KSGAAL welcomes those interested in joining the program to register through the following link: (regForm (ksaa.gov.sa)).

The KSGAAL has identified a set of conditions and regulations for participation in the training program, including: the applicant must be willing to fully commit to participating in the program, attend at least ninety percent (90%) of the scheduled training program hours, be a member of the faculty specialized in teaching the Arabic language to its learners or non-native speakers, and have at least three (3) years of experience (for university professors) or five (5) years of experience (for Arabic language teachers) in this field. Trainees will receive a certificate upon completion of the training program by presenting an applied project after its conclusion.

It is worth noting that the KSGAAL, through the “Khabir” program, aims to achieve the objectives of the Human Capability Development Program, one of the initiatives of Saudi Vision 2030. Additionally, the KSGAA seeks to preserve the integrity of the Arabic language, support it in both spoken and written forms, enhance its status, and facilitate its teaching and learning within and outside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
