“Africa Eco Rice Rally” Arrives in Mauritania

Amdou El Hadj Gueye, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Trade, Industry, Handicrafts and Tourism, received last night in the province of Chami Rally Africa Eco Rice during his first stop inside Mauritanian territory.

More than 500 participants representing 30 nationalities, 100 cars and 60 trucks, in addition to 30 bicycles and three small helicopters, will participate in the fifteenth edition of this rally, which will spend five days inside Mauritanian territory, passing through the wilayas of Nouadhibou, Enchiri, Adrar and Atrarza.

The Secretary-General explained the importance of this rally in introducing the countries through which it passes and its role in introducing the cultural, tourism and environmental diversity in the region.

He added that the role of this rally in the economic and tourism recovery in the region embodies the interest of the President of the Republic, Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, in various areas of citizens’ lives, pointing out that the choice of racers for our country as one of the stations of this rally is evidence of the atmosphere of security and stability experienced by our country.

In turn, the general coordinator of the rally, Mr. Antonio Schulcer, appreciated the efforts of the Mauritanian authorities to receive and facilitate all procedures and provide appropriate conditions for the competitors.

Moroccan contestant Souad Moghtederi expressed her honor to visit Mauritania as the only Arab and African contestant, thanking the Mauritanian state for its efforts to organize this edition.
