Oil Minister Leaves for Riyadh

On 7 January, Mr. Nani Ould Chrougha, the Minister of Oil, Mines, and Energy, Government Spokesman, left Nouakchott for Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, to participate in the third edition of the International Mining Conference, which will be held from 9 to 11 January 2024 at the King Abdulaziz International Convention Center in the capital, Riyadh.

The conference, held under the patronage of King Salman bin Abdulaziz al-Saud, the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, aims to “build international cooperation that achieves the aspirations of the countries of the world in preserving the environment, achieving the goals of zero carbon neutrality, promoting international and regional investments to discover more strategic minerals that help in energy transition efforts and support its industries,  exchanging knowledge and experiences regarding modern technologies, building human capabilities, and providing the conditions for the sustainability of the sector.”

This edition of the conference will witness the hosting of the tenth consultative meeting of Arab ministers concerned with mineral resources affairs, during which the international meeting of geological survey bodies will be held to discuss the most prominent issues related to the importance of geological data and information, and their participation within the frameworks of international and regional cooperation.
