President of Republic Lays First Stone of Project To Electrify 13 Villages in Trarza

On 22 December, in Tiguint, His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, the President of the Republic, laid the first stone of the project to electrify 13 villages in the wilaya of Trarza.

The project, whose total cost is 104,379,000 new ouguiyas, provides for the construction of a line with an average voltage of 33 kV and a length of 62 km, the installation of 28 electrical transformers, the construction of a 400-volt low voltage line with a length of 90 km and the installation of 500 public lighting units.

This project aims to ensure universal access to electricity services for more than 9,000 households in the villages of Taguilalet, Tanourat, Bir Saada, El Harth, Boyrid, Tegoumatine, Ghouba 24, Safa, Boumbri, Ajoueir, Meyssiga, Sawab, and Tenhamed. The project, which should be completed within 10 months, will improve the living conditions of the population along its route and strengthen public security. 400-volt.

After laying the first stone and removing the commemorative plaque marking the start of the implementation of this project, His Excellency the President of the Republic received detailed explanations on the technical procedures followed in its execution, the extent of its contribution to the provision of electric coverage to the rural population of the wilaya of Trarza, as well as the control methods and procedures which will be adopted for its implementation in accordance with400-volt the specifications.
