President of Republic Condoles Emir of Kuwait

On 16 December, His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, the President of the Republic, sent the following message of condolences to the Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Mishaal al–Ahmad al–Jaber al–Sabah, following the death today of Emir of Kuwait Nawaf al-Ahmad al Jaber al Sabah:

“His Highness Sheikh Mishaal al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah, Emir of Kuwait,

Your Highness and dear brother,

We learned with great dismay and sadness the news of the death of the late His Highness Sheikh Nawaf al-Ahmad al-Jaber al-Sabah, Emir of the State of Kuwait.

In this painful circumstance and in my name and on behalf of the Mauritanian government and people, I address to Your Highness, to the brotherly government and people of Kuwait, and the Arab and Islamic Umma, my sincere condolences and express my total compassion, imploring Allah the Almighty to shower the deceased with His vast mercy and to accept him among the ones upon whom Allah has bestowed favor of the prophets, the steadfast affirmers of truth, the martyrs and the righteous. And excellent are those as companions.

I ask Allah the Almighty to grant brotherly Kuwait his blessings and protect it and its people from all harm. We have lost, along with the Arab and Islamic nations, with the passing of His Highness Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, a patriotic and wise leader with a powerful vision, who always sought to lay the foundations of rapprochement, consensus, union, and defense of the Umma’s issues.
