The first Edition of the International Professional Fishing Salon is Open Under the Slogan “Investing in the Blue Economy”

On Thursday 14 December, the first edition of the International Professional Exhibition for Fishing, organized by the African Financial Newspaper and the Tunisian Company for Organizing Exhibitions, in cooperation and partnership with the Ministry of Fisheries, Economy and Maritime Economy, was inaugurated  at the International Conference Center.

Part of this exhibition is dedicated to an expostion of leading companies in the field of fisheries and to banking institutions active in the field of finance, investment and issues related to the activity of the blue economy.

The Minister of Fisheries and Marine Economy, Mr. Moktar El-Housseyni Lam, stressed in a speech opening this salon that this international meeting will have a positive impact on the recovery of the national economy, job creation, contribution to food self-sufficiency, combating poverty and improving the living conditions of the population.

He added that the slogan chosen for this edition was appropriate, as Mauritania is committed in this field to adopting this concept by promoting the sustainable and responsible exploitation of national fisheries.
