The Secretary General of the Ministry of Equipment and Transport, Mr. Sadve Sidi Mohamed Samba participated, Wednesday via videoconference, in the work of the fifth conference of African ministers in charge of meteorology, of which Mauritania is a founding member.
The meeting aims to support weather capabilities and services in African member countries through cooperation among countries, international organizations, and donors.
The conference was an opportunity to review the third generation of weather satellites and to undertake the necessary preparations for the transition to receive its services by 2025.
During the meeting, which is held every two years under the supervision of the African Union and the World Meteorological Organization, Cameroon was elected to chair the Conference for the next two years.
The virtual meeting was attended by the technical adviser in charge of civil aviation and meteorology, Mr. Mohamed Ould Ehdhana; the Director of Studies and Programming, Mr. Mohamed El Moktar Jawad Ahmed Bennane, and the Director General of the National Meteorological Office, Mr. Mohamed Ould Ebbat Ould Cheikh Mohamed El Mamy.
