Military maneuvers of the Mauritanian army, under the name of Zemmour 2, will take place in the wilaya (region) of Tiris Zemmour from 15-19 March 2021.
According to an army statement released Sunday, these maneuvers are meant to build the defensive and offensive capacities of the national army and harmonize its human and material resources, which will allow it to keep pace with rapidly changing fighting styles and means of warfare.
These maneuvers will also make it possible to master various conventional and asymmetric warfare methods to increase the level of coordination, performance, and interoperability between the Air Force and land units.
In addition, the Zemmour 2 military maneuvers aim at raising the operational level of the land and air forces, building the capacities of the commanders in the field of planning, and obtaining a precise assessment of the extent of the implementation of the tasks.
The success of the National Army in the protection of the national territory and its capacity to neutralize the threat of organized crime groups requires it to constantly develop its capacities of dissuasion to face the various types of threats.
