Mauritania Participates in Blue Africa Summit First Edition

On 17 November, in Tangier, Morocco, a Mauritanian delegation led by Mr. Fadil Ould Sidati Ahmed Louli, the Director General of the Mauritanian Maritime Affairs Agency, accompanied by several civil society organizations, participated in the first edition of the Blue Africa Summit in the Moroccan city of Tangier.

During this summit, political leaders and elected officials from major African cities and coastal regions, economic leaders, scientists, sea users, and civil society actors will discuss the mapping of the main challenges of Africa by 2030.

The two-day summit aims to engage the continent’s national and local authorities to develop innovative coastal actions through regional cooperation projects and construct sustainable economic and financial models.

It also examines several issues that will become increasingly important for the continent to think about and plan for a sustainable blue economy and peaceful space over the next decade.
