Mauritania, Saudi Arabia sign MoU to Develop Mining Co-operation

The Minister of Petroleum, Mines and Energy, Government Spokesman, Mr. Nani Ould Chrougha, signed with the Saudi Minister of Industry and Mineral Resources, Mr. Bandar bin Ibrahim Al-Khorayef, on Thursday morning in Riyadh,  a memorandum of understanding between Mauritania and Saudi Arabia on strengthening cooperation in the field of mining.

The MoU included several areas of cooperation, including encouraging the private sector in both countries to invest and explore in this promising economic sector.

The memorandum also stipulated the development of cooperation between the two countries in the fields of research and geological surveys, exchange of experiences between the two parties, training and improving the competencies of human cadres.

The signing of this memorandum comes on the sidelines of the Economic Conference and Summit hosted by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
