President of Republic Receives IsDB Group Chairman
On 22 October, in Nouakchott, His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, the President of the Republic, received Dr. Mohamed bin Sulaiman Al-Jasser, the Chairman of the Islamic Development Bank Group (IsDB).
The meeting focused on the areas of cooperation between Mauritania and this international financial institution, as well as the means likely to boost it toward broader horizons to serve the economic development of our country.
In a statement to the Mauritanian news agency, the IsDB Chairman said he was happy to meet the President of the Republic today and even happier to have heard his orientation and his views on cooperation between the IsDB and the Islamic Republic of Mauritania.
He added that he explained to the President of the Republic the efforts carried out with the departments concerned in Mauritania, particularly the Ministries of Economy and Finance.
He also noted that he informed the President of the Republic of his visits to some projects financed by the IsDB, stressing that he is proud to see the successful completion of those projects and the presence within them of national executives who lead them. This reality pushes us to seek to implement more projects and expand some existing ones because they are all important pillars of the economic development of Mauritania, which is dear to us, as he put it.
He also said he was very optimistic about the excellent future of Mauritania’s economy, especially since there are pillars, such as new gas projects, and the presence of national executives at home and abroad who will return to the country.
He indicated that the President of the Republic was generous with him by sparing him enough time and praising the IsDB for its role over the past decades.
In turn, we have promised the President of the Republic to continue our support for Mauritania and further increase our financing in the country to ensure the overall economic development that the President of the Republic, his wise government, and the dear Mauritanian people are working to achieve, he concluded.
