President of Republic Receives Saudi Delegation

On 9 October, in Nouakchott, His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, the President of the Republic, received a delegation from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, led by the Minister of Tourism, Mr. Ahmed Khatib.

The meeting focused on areas of cooperation between the two brotherly countries and ways to push them toward more promising horizons to serve the common interests of the two brotherly people.

Shortly after the meeting, the Saudi minister told the Mauritanian news agency that his discussions with the President of the Republic focused on the different areas of cooperation between the two countries and noted that they have identical views on the various files.

He added that in his capacity as chairman of the board of directors of the Saudi Development Fund, he discussed with the President of the Republic the projects financed by the fund and that others will be announced very soon.

“I thank the President of the Republic for the warm welcome and the generous hospitality. His Excellency the President renewed his support for the Kingdom’s bid to host Expo 2030, and we look forward to the participation of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania. His Excellency also renewed the support of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania, through the Football Federation, for the Kingdom’s candidacy to host the 2034 World Cup,” as the Saudi Minister of Tourism concluded.
