Mauritania: What is happening in Palestinian Territories is Inevitable Result of Violations of Israeli occupation against Palestinian people

The Mauritanian Government expressed its deep concern at the escalation taking place in the occupied Palestinian territories, considering it an inevitable result of the ongoing provocations and systematic violations of the rights of the Palestinian people and the sanctity of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque by the Israeli occupation authorities, and the continued expansion of settlements.

Here is the statement of the Mauritanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation, and Mauritanians Abroad:

” The Government of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania expresses its deep concern at the escalation taking place in the occupied Palestinian territories, which is an inevitable consequence of the ongoing provocations and systematic violations of the rights of the Palestinian people and the sanctity of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque by the Israeli occupation authorities and the persistence of settlement expansion.

On this occasion, the Mauritanian Government reiterates its position in support of a just and peaceful solution that preserves the legitimate right of the Palestinian people to dignity and sovereignty within the framework of an independent State with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with the Arab Peace Initiative and the relevant international resolutions.

The Mauritanian government also stresses the need for the international community to shoulder its responsibilities by taking the necessary measures to stop the cycle of violence in the region and to establish lasting peace there”.
