Mauritania welcomes Historic Agreement between Libyan Brothers

The Islamic Republic of Mauritania welcomed the historic agreement reached between the Libyan brothers at the Libyan Forum held in Geneva. This accord resulted in the selection of a transitional authority to ensure Libya’s exit from armed conflicts and division.
In a communiqué, a copy of which reached the Mauritanian News Agency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Cooperation, and Mauritanians Abroad, praised the role played by the United Nation in helping reach the agreement.
Mauritania expressed its support for this path and all other ways that contribute to fulfilling the aspirations of the brotherly Libyan population for security, stability, territorial integrity, and sovereignty.

‘’The works of the Libyan forum, which have been taking place during the last five days in Geneva, have led to the selection of a transitional authority that will ensure, before the end of the year, through presidential and legislative elections, Libya’s exist from the military confrontations and divisions.

While welcoming this historic agreement and the UN’s significant role in it, the Islamic Republic of Mauritania affirms its support for this process and all other means that can help fulfilling the Libyan population’s aspirations for security, stability, territorial integrity, and sovereignty.
